Sikkim Trip: One heck of an Experience!!

This article elaborates on some of the best and most memorable experiences we had when we embarked on the Journey of one of the most serene and beautiful places in North-East India. Without wasting much time, let's get to know more explicitly on these experience. Hope you all like it.

 Sikkim, one of the most beautiful and heavenly places of north-eastern India, has every possible temptation and attraction to amaze the tourists, who happen to visit that place. We, a bunch of college friends from IIT Kharagpur got an opportunity to visit this marvelous place in the spring season of 2018 when we were on the verge of completing our graduation, therefore making the most of the idle time we had in our pockets by visiting many of these astounding places throughout our semester.

Though the complete trip was full of fun incidents, there were some incidents which were icing on the cake. Here are some of the unforgettable experiences sorted according to the days passed by


  • The very first day, we got an experience of an invigorating crowd in Gangtok with so much development in there which looked akin to some international site. The people were just walking on the streets relishing the evening leaving aside very limited space for even a vehicle to move from one point to other. The vibe created was worth experiencing which was not endured before in any city of India. The picture provided below is an exact representation of such an amazing outlook we got there.



  • On the subsequent days, when we left for North Sikkim to Lachung and Lachen, the best thing we experienced over there were the beautiful colors amalgamated in the blanket of snow enveloping every inch of those places. Snowflakes were one of the most fragile things present over there, but witnessing the sight they created after sticking and enveloping all the places together, the beauty was simply immeasurable. The mountains stretching beyond the infinity, covered with the sheet of snow having a color whiter than the usual white; I reckon, are the perfect recipes for the metaphors used by the writers and poets out there. The vastness and the simultaneous silence engulfing the surroundings are some things which pull people towards them like gravity far far away from the perpetual struggle for their existence among the phony people in those crowded cities. It's not that there exists a colossal force among those gigantic mountains which drive people to some mysterious realization but I believe it's then at that very moment, people experience their very first real epiphany which makes them learn to fall in love at first sight.







  • Most of the days were spent witnessing the beauty of North Sikkim and the Indo-China Border nearby locations where the young brave and mighty Indian Army present there are devoting and sacrificing every second of their lives just to render us peaceful serene days without a sign of apprehension on our foreheads. That very sight literally gave chills within my body.




  • Finally, the trip ended in Gangtok, where we had yet another unusual yet remarkable experience. A part of our group went to a club to perform a Karaoke, that was at least completely new to me as I was never been a part of a Karaoke before. As soon as we entered the club and performed a Karaoke by singing the song All izz Well from the movie 3 idiots, we noticed two old aged people getting really impressed by our performance and calling us for some casual and fun conversations with them, which we later realized that actually they were fascinated by the hoodie worn by one of our friends with IIT Kharagpur Civil Engineering written over it. They were so amused that, they started to narrate their own college life stories and funny incidents of their time and also yearned to know our college stories too. After paying the whole bill of our order, they started to offer us some more soft drinks just to prolong our conversations, which was really surprising and astonishing for us. Just when we noticed that those people were getting too monotonous :P we quickly left the club and went to our Guest House. That was one heck of an experience we got that night
